End-User License Agreement

By clicking Accept you agree to this agreement. If you do not agree, click Quit and do not use Parallax. This agreement says the same as the license of the Parallax npm packages, in the form of an end-user agreement for the desktop application.

1. What Parallax is

"Parallax" (Parallax for React Native) means this desktop application, the screen helpers and the MCP server that ship inside it, and any update the Licensor supplies. "You" means the person or organization that installs or uses Parallax. "Licensor" means Valiantsin Tsikhamirau, the author of Parallax. Parallax shows and controls a running React Native app in the iOS Simulator or the Android emulator, for You and for the AI agents You connect to it.

2. License

The Licensor grants You a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, royalty-free license, free of charge, to install and use Parallax on Your own machines, and on machines of Your staff and contractors working for You, for Your own personal or internal business purposes, including the commercial development, testing and debugging of Your own applications.

3. Restrictions

Parallax is closed-source software, licensed and not sold. Except as this agreement expressly allows or as mandatory law allows despite this limit, You may not:

(a) copy Parallax, except as needed to install and use it, to keep it in Your organization's internal software distribution, and to make backups; (b) modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of Parallax; (c) distribute, sublicense, sell, rent, lease, lend, host as a service or otherwise make Parallax or any part of it available to others outside Your organization; (d) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Parallax, or try to obtain its source code; (e) use Parallax, its output or its documentation to build, train or benchmark a product or service that competes with it; (f) remove or change any copyright, license or other notice in Parallax.

4. Third-party components

Parallax contains and ships beside it third-party software under its own licenses, listed in the file THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES (Help, Third-Party Notices) and, for Electron and Chromium, in LICENSES.chromium.html. Those licenses, not this agreement, govern those components.

5. What Parallax sends, and where

Parallax runs on Your machine. It has no account, no telemetry and no analytics, and it does not send data to the Licensor. It connects to the internet only for these:

  • Update checks. A packaged build asks https://raw.githubusercontent.com/parallax-rn/parallax-releases/main/feeds/<channel>.json whether a newer version exists, and downloads an update from GitHub when You install one. Such a request carries what any web request carries (Your IP address, the app's version in the user agent) and nothing about Your projects. A development build does not check.
  • Report a Problem. When You choose Help, Report a Problem, Parallax puts a diagnostics text on Your clipboard and opens a public issue form on GitHub in Your browser. Nothing is sent unless You paste it and submit the form yourself, and what You submit there is public.

What Parallax reads from Your app and from the simulator or emulator (the screen, the component tree, logs, errors, network requests, state and navigation) is shown to You in the window and returned to the AI agents You connect to it, such as Claude Code or Codex, which run on Your machine and send what they receive to their own providers under their own terms. Parallax does not control that. It removes known secrets from network and state data before an agent receives them; logs and errors are passed on as Your app wrote them. Terminals inside Parallax run the programs You start in them.

6. Agents and other services are not ours

The AI agents, their providers, Xcode, the iOS Simulator, the Android emulator, React Native, Metro and Your own apps are not part of Parallax. Their terms, prices, limits and behavior are between You and their owners. The Licensor is not responsible for what an agent does with the access You give it, including when You approve its actions in Parallax; read what an approval asks before You accept it.

7. Apple and Google software

Parallax's iOS screen helper uses private frameworks of Xcode's iOS Simulator, which Apple does not document and may change or remove in any Xcode or macOS release; its Android screen helper relies on the Android emulator and its tools. Parallax may stop working, work in part, or need an update after such a change, and the Licensor does not promise compatibility with any Xcode, macOS, iOS or Android version beyond the ones its documentation names. Xcode, the Simulator and the Android tools are their owners' software under their own licenses, which You must have accepted; Parallax does not include them.

8. Beta and updates

Parallax is a beta. It may change, stop working or be withdrawn at any time. Parallax may offer updates. An update is part of Parallax and falls under this agreement unless it comes with a new one, which You accept when You install it; later versions may come under different terms, including paid terms for some features. The Licensor may stop offering updates or support at any time.

9. Ownership

The Licensor keeps all rights not expressly granted. This agreement grants no right to the Licensor's name or marks. Your applications, their data and the output of Your agents stay Yours.

10. Termination

This agreement ends automatically if You breach it. Then You must stop using Parallax and delete all copies. You may end it at any time by deleting Parallax. Sections 3, 6, 9, 11, 12 and 13 survive.

11. No warranty

PARALLAX IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE LICENSOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT PARALLAX WILL WORK WITH YOUR XCODE, SIMULATOR, EMULATOR OR APP, OR THAT AN AGENT USING IT WILL DO WHAT YOU INTEND.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, THE LICENSOR IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM PARALLAX OR ITS USE, AND THE LICENSOR'S TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR PARALLAX (ZERO FOR THE FREE LICENSE). NOTHING IN THIS AGREEMENT LIMITS LIABILITY FOR INTENT OR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR ANY LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

13. General

(a) Governing law and courts. This agreement is governed by the law of the Republic of Belarus, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The courts of Minsk, Belarus, have jurisdiction over any dispute about it. If You are a consumer, nothing in this agreement takes away a protection that the law of the country where You live gives You and that cannot be waived by agreement, including Your right to bring a claim in Your own courts.

(b) Severability. If a court finds a part of this agreement invalid, that part is limited to the minimum extent needed and the rest stays in force.

(c) Entire agreement. This agreement is the entire agreement between You and the Licensor about Parallax and replaces any earlier statement about it. A paid tier, if one is offered later, comes with its own terms.

(d) Export. You must comply with the export control and sanctions laws that apply to You when You use or move Parallax.

(e) No waiver. If the Licensor does not enforce a term, the Licensor keeps the right to enforce it later.

(f) Language. This agreement is written in English; a translation is for convenience only.
